PRMPT A Freeware DOS Utility Version 1.1
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Written by Charles Dittell Marketed by Suncoast Software Systems
INTRODUCTION
PRMPT is a simple utility which changes the color of your DOS prompt.
WARRANTY ETC.
There is NO warranty for PRMPT; it's only guaranteed to take up space on
your hard drive. However, we've tested it thoroughly and it works for us.
PRMPT is marketed as FREEWARE. There is no registration procedure. You may
use it for free, forever. You may also call our support BBS for assistance.
However, PRMPT is copyrighted, which means you can't use it, nor sell it as
part of a commercial product without WRITTEN permission from the author.
INCLUDED FILES
There are only two files included, PRMPT.EXE and PRMPT.DOC.
HOW TO USE IT
Put prmpt.exe in any pathed directory.
1 - Call prmpt (by typing 'prmpt'); follow the on-screen instructions
2 - Call prmpt and include the color you want for your prompt, as:
prmpt yellow
3 - Add the PRMPT line to a batch file. For example, you could create a
batch file for each color prmpt you want, so yellow.bat would contain
the line, prmpt yellow, and bcyan.bat would contain the line,
prmpt bcyan.
4 - Add the PRMPT line to your autoexec.bat file, such as: prmpt bgreen
Your color options: white, blue, red, green, magenta, cyan,
bwhite, bblue, bred, bgreen, bmagenta, bcyan, yellow
If you mis-type the color choice, PRMPT will default to #1 (above).
ASSISTANCE
Call our support BBS, Suncoast City BBS, up to 28.8k, 24 hrs., for support.
Leave a message to SysOp. You may also download the latest PRMPT from
Suncoast City (even without registering). The Suncoast City BBS phone number
is 941-953-5505.
